WE DID IT!
Dear Build Brookline’s Future Supporters,
We did it! We are thrilled to report that Brookline voters overwhelmingly voted YES today in support of the Driscoll School building project, supporting the project by a resounding 59 to 41% with a 17.7% turnout, higher than two of the past four May elections.
This happened because of YOU. You knocked on doors, participated in phone banks, made donations, encouraged friends and neighbors to support us, and—most importantly—showed up today to VOTE YES. Thanks to your efforts, the future of Driscoll is no longer in limbo, and the community can look forward to a new, fossil-fuel-free building that meets the needs of 21st century students and educators.
We always envisioned this as a unity campaign for Brookline, and it has indeed brought together a broad coalition of supporters from across our town. By working together, we have demonstrated that we can accomplish tremendous things.
Of course, our work is not yet done -- we chose the name Build Brookline’s Future because we are committed to working on behalf of ALL of our schools, and look forward to rolling up our sleeves to help the Pierce community when the time comes to vote on their MSBA funding, and stepping up for South Brookline to address their school capacity needs.
In the meantime, thank you for your steadfast support and work on behalf of today’s vote.
Best wishes,
Heather Hamilton and David Pearlman
